I set up a street food concept back in 2012 known as Boardwalk Bites but early this year Boardwalk Bites teamed up with Green Olive Firewood & Charcoal Company to create an original and creative new BBQ and smoking recipe book. However, we hadn't expected the response and feedback that we received when people came and tasted the results. So, rebranding ourselves, we have become Boardwalk BBQ and are also stepping up our game with a brand new custom built airstream trailer to allow us to really get ourselves out there at events and festivals and wherever this journey may take us. By using their incredible range of 100% Natural Charcoals & Cooking/Smoking Woods it has elevated everything we have previously done to new heights of sheer quality and flavour.

We were taking basics like pulled pork, but because every Tom, Dick and Harry does pulled pork we added smoked ham hocks into the mix then using the stock from the ham hocks we were making Dirty Deep South Carolina BBQ sauce to mix it with...
Adding smoked pulled pork, ham hock and smoked wild boar sausages to my Mac 'n' Cheese has turned into our biggest seller.
Even when it came to burgers I refused to sell any old crap. I therefore (painstakingly) took bone marrow and hollowed it out then along with a secret recipe blended it all down and added 10 grams into every 7oz burger we made (whether that was a good ol' fashioned cheeseburger or one of our elevated Juicy Lucy or Juicy Lucifer burgers) ensuring that they were simply the best burgers available at these events or in London for that matter.

Which brings us round to our latest venture and opening Boardwalk BBQ - Smokin' at The Normanby in Putney which will not only act as our base kitchen, it will allow people to be able to come and taste our full food menu seven days a week with a great range of low and slow smoked meats, game and poultry, wood smoked pork and beef ribs, cracking small bites like our most popular mac 'n' cheese fritters to our amazing homemade  bone marrow beef burgers featuring the likes of The Mack Daddy topped with crisp panko crumbed mac 'n' cheese or our Piggy Back topped with smoked pulled pork and spiced pork scratchings through to Smoked Chilli Bacon rubbed Chicken Burgers known as Henny Penny.

However the one that's got everyone talk about is our totally awesome Stateside inspired Smoked Sunday Roasts with Smoked Brisket, Corn-fed Chicken and Pork Shoulder Confit all served with goose fat roasted potatoes, maple glazed parsnips, roast root vegetables, sweet potato mash and collard greens (better than I even had in the States... Even if I do say so myself...) and American Popovers (Yorkie Puds to me and you...)

The quality of their products ties in with our own beliefs in sourcing the best meat, game, poultry & even our own smoked sausages produced through Franconian's Sausage Company who are also committed 100% to sourcing the best produce for their 100% meat and 100% wheat free sausages. Green Olive is as committed as we are to ensuring they source only the best aged seasoned wood and charcoal available, hence, enforcing our beliefs and values with their own commitments, which in tandem allows us to achieve the maximum results we search for.

We use a range of suppliers, ensuring only the best produce is sourced ethically and who share our belief that each animal has been bred and treated with the respect that it thoroughly deserves. Then smoked or cooked using the woods and charcoal from Green Olive Firewood has enabled us to bring to you a range of produce which is all about the quality and most of all the flavours.

We don't just stop there though guys... On top of Daily Specials like the ultimate smoked chilli beef BBQ beef ribs, we have our own range of marinades, sauces and rubs along with all the relishes, toppings and sides that will no doubt tantalise those taste buds to the max...
